Lake Cargelligo Pool Amenities Construction
Adaptive was contracted by the Lachlan Shire Council to demolish the existing Lake Cargelligo Pool building and construct a new and improved amenities building. For many in our community, public pools play an important role; It creates a sense of social connectedness and presents an opportunity to come together. As a regional business, we understand what a valuable resource it is to our community.
The project broadly involved demolition of the old building and construction of a new facility with an enhanced commercial kitchen, additional storage, changing rooms and bathrooms. Externally, 3500m2 of turf was laid and new adjoining concrete pathways were constructed to create a visually pleasing, practical and spacious area.
The freezing cold water was one of the biggest concerns amongst the residents. Because of this, many community pools sit unused during winter though still require high maintenance costing Councils avoidable. Taking into account sustainability and longevity factors, we installed a solar heating system. A solar pool heating has no environmental effects as it operates from renewable energy and is a great way to promote sustainability as well as enhanced functionality and decreased costs for the council.
The newly built community building now boasts access to a brand-new solar heating system that keeps the pool at a comfortable 27 degrees Celsius, ideal to take the plunge just anytime of the year.
Amidst the disruptions brought on by covid, this project was delivered within a tight timeline and adherence to budget. As we complete the construction of the much-anticipated Lake Cargelligo Pool and the community building, we can’t wait for the locals to make the most of this facility and benefit from all the modern amenities this place has got to offer!
We hope the residents from the neighboring towns drive down to take advantage of this facility and cool off this summer!
